RESIDENTIAL HOUSEPARENT Required for September 2010

Salary circa £12k (dependent on experience & qualifications)

Stanbridge Earls is a small independent co-educational boarding school with an outstanding international reputation for helping pupils with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and mild Aspergers syndrome.

We are seeking a residential Houseparent to care for nine Year 9 boys in a small boarding house. The person appointed will be responsible for the boys’ pastoral and domestic care and will live in a staff flat annexed to the boarding house. This is a non-teaching post, where the appointed person should ideally have previous experience of working within a residential environment with children. The key attributes must be a sense of compassion and understanding of children with learning difficulties; a good sense of humour and a willingness to be fully involved in all aspects of boarding school life.

Stanbridge Earls School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will have to register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority and undertake a criminal record check via the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
