Mrs Sybil Warner

After education at Brockenhurst Grammar School where she was head girl and captain of hockey, Sybil achieved a Certificate of Education in science and physical education at Bedford College of PE. She also has a BA degree in education from the Open University. She has taught in both the maintained and independent sectors, in a senior school in California and in international schools in Nigeria. For twelve years she was headteacher of Sherborne House School, near Romsey, and then she taught for two years at Stanbridge Earls. Sybil is now a Reporting Inspector and a Trainer of new inspectors for the Independent Schools Inspectorate. She and her husband, Phil, live in the New Forest. Her interests include local history, music, porcelain and botanical watercolour painting (she is a member of the National Society of Floral Painters) and gardening, in which she is an assistant organiser for the fund-raising National Gardens Scheme and a former chair of the education committee of the Hampshire Gardens Trust. Sybil has been a member of the Education Committee since 2005.
